Therapy for Young Adults & College Students

Annie's specialty is supporting young adults navigating the complex transition to adulthood. This period, sometimes called "extended adolescence," involves unique challenges as individuals establish identity, independence, and purpose while balancing education, career exploration, and evolving relationships.

She provides therapy for young adults and college students, helping them navigate these transitions, manage increasing responsibilities, and foster personal growth during this formative time. Annie focuses particularly on supporting women and queer-identifying individuals, practicing from an intersectional feminist perspective that acknowledges the diverse experiences and challenges faced by different identity groups.

Nature-Based Therapy & Ecotherapy

Before becoming a therapist, Annie Bingaman worked as an environmental educator, and she is now weaving that experience into her clinical work. With training in ecotherapy, Annie now offers outdoor therapy sessions in Westchester County, NY. Through nature based healing, Annie helps clients deepen their relationship with the natural world while also strengthening their connection to themselves and others.

Integrating Mindfulness & Movement

Annie is not only a therapist, but also a registered yoga teacher with over 15 years of personal practice. She previously taught yoga and meditation at the Westchester County Department of Corrections (WCDOC). â€‹ Now Annie draws from her training in trauma-informed yoga and meditation, helping her therapy clients incorporate mindfulness and movement-based healing into their daily lives. â€‹Mindfulness techniques and body awareness tools often find their way into her talk therapy sessions, helping clients cultivate awareness and self-regulation.

Values

Annie is a Health at Every Size (HAES®) aligned and LGBTQ+ affirming provider, ensuring an inclusive and affirming space for all clients. She recognizes that bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and that health and wellbeing are not determined by weight or appearance.

Outside of Therapy

In her free time, Annie enjoys exploring the beauty of the Hudson Valley, working on various art projects, and reading memoirs from her local library.
