About Heart
Root Counseling
Our Mission
Healing begins at the root.
Heart Root Counseling was founded by Annie Bingaman, LCSW with a simple, yet powerful mission: to provide holistic mental health counseling and support for adolescents, young adults, and anyone seeking a deeper connection to themselves.

We know that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, so we offer an individualized plan tailored to you. Whether that’s individual talk therapy, trauma therapy, or nature-based therapy.

We aim to create a safe and affirming space for all people, including LGBTQ+ individuals and those navigating life’s transitions. Every person’s path to healing is unique, and it’s our mission to support you in finding your own.
Through a personalized, warm, and compassionate approach, we help you build resilience, gain clarity, and move toward a life of greater freedom, healing, and fulfillment.
What's a "heart root"?
Certain trees have a special type of taproot system underneath — heart roots. These deep roots pull in nutrients and create a strong foundation, keeping the tree steady through storms and seasons. Without heart roots to anchor it, the tree might struggle to grow —leaning or breaking when things get tough.

Humans aren’t so different. We need our own version of heart roots—things that keep us grounded, nourished, and strong so that we may flourish and thrive.

That’s what Heart Root Counseling is all about. We provide services designed to nurture and enhance your entire well being — mind, body and soul.

Whether in our plant-filled office, online, or out in nature, we help you build the stability and support you need to heal, grow, and move through life with authenticity and confidence.

"Rooted ways embolden us to remember that with our complex minds we can feel—and live—more than one thing simultaneously. Anxiety, difficulty, fear, despair. Yes. Beauty, connectedness, possibility, love. Yes."
